I'm thankful for a lot of things, for good health, a supportive family, and great friends. As a filmmaker I'm even more thankful for the generosity of local businesses, members of the community who see the value of a good deed, and friends from far off lands who donate to our film budget. By Richard Neilberg sending out a press release to the members of the media, and Stephanie from the Record Journal newspaper reading it, the pieces of the puzzle were starting to come together. It wasn't until Ferdinand Velez, Jr, an illustrator/graphic artist from Meriden, saved the article, joined RUSocial, and emailed me when the pieces of the puzzle joined together for us to see the big picture. Thank you Ferdinand for giving your graphic services to my film. I'm confident that our finished product will be a truly labor of love from all of us. On another great note, by pure chance last night, while working at Sound Spectrum Entertainment, from Wallingford, a company whose been in the DJ industry now for over 20 years, from kids partys, to weddings, to corporate events, big and small, you name it all, SSE has worked and done it all! Even doing many celebrity parties throughout the continental United States, I was fortunate enough to deliver a package of our bounce house offerings, to a wonderfully delightful couple up on the east side of Wallingford. While there, I was admiring the construction of the house, and to my surprise, the husband of the women I was going to see had built the amazing house. I asked them if I could use their house in my film, and they were overjoyed at the idea. I think I'm going to use their house as the setting for the Chief of Police's house. Its really fancy! So all is good on the eastern front! Our casting is tomorrow too, and I'm excited to see how many actors and extras show up to be cast! I'll be busy at JustAHead Production headquarters tonight highlighting portions of the script for the actors to read. That's it for now. Be sure to check back thursday, when I'll give a recap of our casting!
For the past few years I heard about the Film Industry Mixers, and how they were good for networking with your peers in the industry. Many of my friends and fellow filmmakers attend the meetings, and I was glad to be finally able to go. After contemplating what to wear, I decided to introduce the industry to Rellik, and wore the robe to the event. Decked out in full regala, I as the creator of Rellik, 'was Rellik' for the night. I invited many of my cast members to the mixer, so they could network and such, and when it came time for me to pitch my film infront of the industry, my cast, producers, and supporters stood up, and showed me love. They believe in me and my dreams, and we showed the industry that Love's A Killer is more than just a screenplay trying to be produced. It's real, and its happening. The entire night, from the moment I walked in dressed as Rellik, people started talking, and they started noticing that more and more people had on Rellik's necklace. Having had a business background in marketing and advertising, I knew that wearing Rellik to the event would be a success. One right after the other, people flocked to me, to hear what I had to say about Love's A Killer. Robert fromEntertainmentCt.com was there at my request to help me network, and through his help, I was able to secure a place with Young Studios, to help his company out on April 23rd, for their fundraising event. I'm looking forward to this coming thursday, when myself and one of my producers head to NYC for the ACEFest to network with the film industry there too! Thanks to everybody who came out for such a great event!
Firstly, thank you to Eugenia, and Mike for coming to the Production meeting last night at Colony Pizza. We discussed the latest on locations, watched footage from our test shoot, and checked out the latest tshirt designs for the film.
I'm proud to report that we have secured two new locations for filming. The final scene in the film where the Dean of Reese University is seemingly left hanging to die, is goin gto be shot in Wallingford, at my parents garage, and the scene where Brandon, Justin, and Billy are toking up while enjoying the warmth from the fire pit, will be filmed at my parents nextdoor neighbors backwoods. Both locations are excited to be a part of the film, and I'm looking forward to getting the show underway!
Pictures of the locations will be avaiable soon, as well as character discriptions and such.
I'd like to also welcome our new producers- Kathy, Angelique, Dolores, Paul, and Dana.
Thank for your support!
Sincerely,
Michael J. Citak
In the meantime, until we get underway with filming, please do your best to promote the audition notice. Jan 6th at WPAA Studios in Wallingford, CT. From 6pm-9pm.
